Plenty Willow Warblers
Not easy through the branches on a windy night
Ogden 1745- 1900hrs, Strong WSW>5 cloudy with sharp bursts of sunshine.
A poor start with just the usual Canadas and Mallards on the water and the strong wind wafting the trees along with several nuggets with off lead dogs, screaming kids and joggers ,who me, selfish!
Anyway, in time in quietened down and as always on an evening with a bit of sun passerine alley produced the goods.
After standing quiet for a time Long Tailed, Blue and Great tits started to appear along with Robins, Wrens and Dunnocks followed by a calling Chiffchaff which I failed to find, and up to 7 Willow Warblers all working their way through the Willows low down near the waters edge.
Photography was not easy with the wind swaying the branches and I got half a camera full of twigs and branches with no bird, also they were so busy feeding on the last of the days insects they didnt have time to stand and pose.
On the way back Raggalds Flood held the usual 2 Redshank, 1 Lapwing , 2 Blackbirds and a Pied Wagtail.
