Comparing gardens

A new and regular garden visitor for me

A mates garden who now lives in France
Hoopoe photos courtesy of Stephen Nash

My garden is performing well this year, first with Waxwings and now for the first time Goldfinch and Chaffinch visiting the feeders daily. This evening a Dunnock was feeding a young one below the feeders, the male has been singing in the garden for several weeks now.
I thought this was good until a mechanic mate, Steve Nash, that moved to France a few years ago sent me these pictures taken through his window of Hoopoes that are breeding in his garden.
He also watches 2 Barn Owls daily and says their recent diet has been Grass snakes, ducklings and, wait for it, a kitten. Ive asked him to fetch some pellets over next time which should be interesting for AC to examine.
Thanks for the photos Steve.
