High tide at Ogden
A muddy mess
Water half way up the trees
1700hrs and the rain was easing and the sky brightening so , against my better judgement, it was off to Ogden for my 4th attempt at Tree Pipit photos, who else do you know that would attempt this at early evening in the rain ? As I approached the area the sky got black as night and the heavens opened throwing down torrential rain with a strong S>5 coming across the golf course.
Needless to say, the whole area was void of birds other than 1 Jay ,2 Robins, 1 Willow Warbler and a single Blackcap making a half hearted attempt at singing deep down in the wood.
The water held 11 Canadas and the usual Mallards.
I should have stuck to my first plan of Soil Hill where it would have been just as wet but I could have watched the waders pouring in ?
All I have to do now is try get my birding clothes dry for the morning.
