A record count of 38 Oystercatchers
No shortage of bird life here

LBBs and Herrings moving through
A mass of Starling
Early morn and a strong W>5 gusting 6 with horizontal drizzle so aborted Fly Flatts and headed for Leeshaw where it was dry and bright with 50% cloud but an icy cold westerly at 2 degrees.
A very lively morning from start to finish, in the air, on the water and on the deck with a record count of 38 Oystercatchers as well as 5 Redshank and 15 Curlew.
A good move of gulls through with 16 LBB, 38 Herring, 18 Common and 9 Black Headed, several of which stopped off briefly on the water before heading off >W.
The highlight of the morning was a Jack Snipe which flew up out of the conduit and right over my head, dropping into a field at the other side of the track. This was just the same event as the last one I had here in Oct 2021.
Otherwise it was the usual species, mostly sheltering from the wind in the SW corner.
A weather forecast for morning is a repeat of today with some light rain and strong westerly.
