Wheatears Returning, Fly Flatts.

                                Male Ringed Plover
Islands appearing out in the water.
                                Meadow Pipit numbers building
                                    juv Wheatear

Bright and breezy at Fly Flatts early morn with a WSW>3 at 14 degrees. Around 50% cloud and sunshine.
Still waiting for the wader movement to start with just the usual Common Sandpipers, Ringed Plover and Oystercatcher but a promising sign of dispersion with 8 Wheatear present including an adult male and female in summer plumage but very camera shy.
Swifts and Sand Martins were over the water again making it the best year I,ve had for both species. A family group of 5 Stonechat moved through whilst a Buzzard was high over the moor.
Good to get NK back doing his rounds after his return from hotter climates.
Tomorrow could prove more interesting with a moderate S turning SE and rain.
