NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

A reet wet affair, Leeshaw, Lower Laithe.

Fog on the tops this morning so over to Leeshaw reservoir in atrocious conditions with a strong W>5 gusting 6 bringing continuous horizontal heavy drizzle throughout at 12 degrees.
Conditions looked good for gulls and Terns but just the opposite with a very quiet morning.
Only 2 Black Headed on the shore plus a single LBB with none moving through.
The shore just held 3 Oystercatchers and a few Lapwing, one of the latter had a very small chick, whilst just Greylags, Canadas and Mallard were on the water.
By 0915 hrs the weather was worstening with the wind and drizzle increasing cutting down visibility to the far shore so up stumps and headed for the Sladen Valley. The weather there was no better and not a single bird of any description in sight at Lower Laithe reservoir so headed for home.
