The Wild West, Leeshaw/Mixenden.

Always Cormorants present at the well stocked reservoir.
                                             Rough water
Good to get the Redshanks back

                                          as well as the Oystercatchers.

Low count of Herrings through today
Few small gulls in the fields.

                                                    1w Herring.

                                                      Ad Herring and LBB

A wild morning at Leeshaw with a strong gale force >W8 blowing at 39 m.p.h. with driving rain, sleet and hail at 4 degrees.
Very few gulls about this morning but a higher count than usual of LBBs.
The majority of Herring gulls went straight through >W with just a handful stopping on the water briefly.
Oystercatchers and Redshank seemed confused with the wind, flying around madly from one field to another and onto the sheltered banking of the water.
Nothing untoward at this site this morning.
Mixenden reservoir was very poor with just around 50 small gulls, 2 ad Herring, 1 ad LBB and 3  1w Herrings.
A good prediction from MC last night for a Long Tailed Skua in my area when one just fell short and showing at Sheffield today.

Leeshaw
26 Herring gull.........................>W
9 LBB.......................................>W
5 Redshank
+ usual Oyks, Geese, Cormorants etc.
