1st snowfall for Queensbury this evening.

Once again this morning the fog was out in force on the tops but Leeshaw was just below the cloud base
with light sleet and rain throughout on a light SSE>3 at 2 degrees.
A single male Goosander was new in from yesterday but otherwise it was down to the gulls to save the morning with another good show of Herrings but only a single Lesser Black Backed. A good check through for Yellow Legged Herring, Med gull and any other winter gull such as Iceland, Glaucous and Caspian but to no avail.
Next was a check through the geese for Barnacle, Brent and White Fronted, well you,ve got to be optimistic have,nt you!
Ogden in the afternoon was just hovering below the cloud base and very dark with light rain the full time with the light wind now from the east.
Most of the activity was in the lodge house garden around the feeders with Treecreepers, Nuthatch, Gt Spotted Woodpecker and Chaffinches whilst a nice group of Goldcrests were actively feeding on the west bank in DFs Firecrest area from 2/11/2013.
Back on the prom a Dipper was down in the sluice gate area whilst around c 50 small gulls were on the water along with 9 Herring gulls which made for a decent hours birding.
