Ogden a.m. and nearly an all time record dip at Fly Flatts p.m.

OGDEN                              At least 4 Nuthatches in the winter tit flock

                                                    3 Treecreepers seen

Kingfisher down in the dark sluice gate, 1 of 2.
Looking down on Bradford. Another pile of tyres up in smoke.
We had to pay to have them taken away when I was at the garage.

A very wet start to the morning but soon cleared up at Ogden with bright skies on a W>4 at 7 degrees.
Very little on the water with small gulls, 2 Herrings and an LBB along with 6 Canadas and the usual Mallards.
All the action was on the west bank with a winter mobile tit flock now built up to around 30 birds including Blue,Great,Coal and Long Tailed as well as Goldcrest, Treecreeper and Nuthatch.
A late afternoon visit to Fly Flatts in a strong SW>5 and drizzle nearly got me a record breaking dip but was spoilt with getting 2 Carrion Crow and a Red Grouse, but one of these days!!!
