Certainly not a day for upland birding. Ogden/Mixenden.

Dense fog throughout the day and not sign of any wind to move it on with just a very light east then south east breeze. Ogden ,early morn, was fogged off completely with hardly enough visibility to check out the ducks in the feeding corner. The mission was to check for Whoopers which I satisfied myself there were none present as although you couldnt see the water I,m sure I,d have heard them if there were any out on the water.
A dog walk up and down the prom a few times was as good as it got and back home for an early finish.
Late afternoon and the same mission at Mixenden which, although lower down the valley, was near enough as bad with visibility about a quarter way across the water.
Again I was convinced that there were no Whoopers present but no chance of checking for Goldeneye and Tufted etc so just a matter of checking through the gulls which were not too far offshore.
Around 80 small gulls were present with 75% being Commons whilst a single adult LBB was the only big gull.
Another early finish but at least the last 3 days has given me a good opportunity to bath and groom all 3 dogs which takes about 3 hours a dog but saves me £135 every 6 weeks for all 3 done with a groomer.
Another day of light SE tomorrow so probably another foggy day to look forward to then strong south westerlies and rain by Wednesday which should clear the skies.
