Newcomers for Fly Flatts but slow in the conditions.

Plenty shoreline now                 SE corner ponds
                                       looking down the south shore
SE corner the floating jetty now beached.
south inlet. All this is usually under water
                               looking down the east shore
east shore. If this does,nt invite them in nowt will.
                                  east shore to NW inlet.

Another day thwarted by the sunshine and blue skies although a brisk  WSW>4 kept the temperature down.
A lazy day around the water with the geese hardly moving and sleeping most of the day .
This morning the only wader present was a Ringed Plover on the east shore along with 8 LBB gulls and 2 Black Headeds on the water.
By late afternoon the Ringed Plover had been joined with a second Ringed along with a Little Ringed but all 3 kept way over on the NE mud area well out of range and in a pile of heat shimmer.
Luckily, no appearance of the Peregrines today although 6 Carrion Crow on the east bank caused some disturbance whilst they squabbled over a LBB carcass.
Overhead the sky was alive with Swifts and a few Swallows but all the Swifts were very high and in no particular direction meaning they were a feeding party rather than movers. Kestrels were up enjoying the wind with 4 birds up together over the Nab.
Stronger winds and rain forecast for tomorrow, just the job.
