Fieldfare and Redwing flocks moving >S
Very distant over the Nab
6 Golden Plover >SE beyond the wind turbines.
4 distant Teal came in on the water.
A pleasant 2 hour at Fly Flatts late afternoon in good conditions deteriorating towards the end of the watch with 90 % nice light grey cloud cover on a S>4 increasing >6 and bringing light rain.
A walk on the west bank just found 7 Mallard on the water which is still receding daily with the whole northern half of the reservoir now dried up apart from a few narrow channels. Back on the south shore and set up for a sky watch things started to happen with 4 Teal from the high south dropping onto the centre of the water and staying well out in the middle.
A small flock of 6 Golden Plover flew >SE just beyond the wind turbines and it was whilst I was watching these I started to pick up flocks of mixed Fieldfare and Redwing with 5 flocks >S with around 100 birds, mainly Fieldfare all very high and distant over the Nab.
Over to the west 3 Buzzards were up very high over Tattie Pie Hill whilst 2 noisy Raven flew low across the moor. A single Wheatear was at the back of the Nolstar field on the way home.
