6 Golden Plover at Nolstar
Pair Goosander, Leeshaw
Leeshaw Greylags
Leeshaw Oystercatcher
Pair of Fly Flatts Grouse
An horrendous start to the morning at Fly Flatts with near gale force SW>6-7 and heavy, horizontal drizzle but good bird bringing down weather.
Much the same as yesterday but only 2 Wheatear showing and 4 Common Sandpiper and no sign of Dunlin but impossible to scan the far shore in the conditions.
On to Leeshaw with a SW>5 and heavy rain showers again making birds hard to find.
Just the usual sp. with Lapwings, Redshank, Oystercatcher etc with a pair of Goosander on the water briefly along with plenty Swallows over the water.
c100 Golden Plover in the Upper Marsh field but distant and pouring rain.
Back over the moor and another scan of Fly Flatts from the top road then on to check the Nolstar field which held 6 Golden Plover getting a bit closer in before a lamb ran through them sending them back to a distance away.
A quick scan of Mixenden just produced a female Tufted and 5 Mallard.
