Queensbury birds starting to winter flock.

Another grey, mild day with very little breeze and now starting to get that winter feeling with local birds starting to flock together in small feeding groups.
The tit flock was back by Foxhill park at midday with around 30 Great and Blue tits moving through the garden hedges whilst around 8 Blackbirds moved along the roof tops.
Several Starling flocks were moving around the gardens counting flocks of between 30 and 100, all very vocal.
A small number of Common and Black Headeds gulls were on the football pitches whilst 2 Herring gull and 11 LBB gulls flew high overhead >W.
A report today of an increase in Green Woodpeckers down Shibden valley with 7 being seen by a customer near Scout Hall, or the house of 1000 windows as it used to be known.
