A late afternoon visit to TMR in the blistering heat with a slight NW>3, surely this weather can,t go on much longer, bring back the low pressure.
The area was alive with young Swallows, Linnets and Meadow Pipits and managed a quick shot of my first RL Partridge of this year.
YW are keeping the water topped up to the brim so not much chance of Autumn waders with no shoreline what so ever.
Gulls were in good numbers although the big gulls were sticking to the far sw corner making scoping difficult with the heat shimmer. No Terns through or YL Herring gulls yet although got a bit of a panic on when I thought I,d scoped a Yellow Legged on the water with the LBBs but the head didnt look just right and then it flew out onto the wall revealing its pink legs of a Herring gull which is still a decent bird to find in our area.
A surprise to get a few Common gulls coming through >N also.
No sight or sound of Curlew but plenty Lapwings.
