Snow Bunting on the hill
Excuse photos in fast fading light and distant.
Soil Hill 1500-1630hrs Cold SW>5
After a trek on the length and breadth of the top of Soil Hill all that could be found was 5 Grey Partridge and 1f Pheasant so in fast fading light I thought , 1 more scoop of the mounds and away as by now the photographic light had gone and my objective had been to get some Twite photos.
Suddenly the 11 Twite did a quick fly past above me and disappeared down the northern slope so that clinched it, time to go.
As I dropped down onto the track a small bird flew up in front of me showing lots of white, Bingo, Snow Bunting. It landed briefly some distance away then off again to the other side of the mounds letting me relocate it three times briefly before I ran out of light. There was obviously only one bird so far, as it flew a circuit without being joined by others. A typical November bird being very flighty.
I believe it was this day last year that NK clocked the first on the hill, correct me if Im wrong Nigel.
