With 1 hour to spare this evening my original plan was to check the gull fields at Thornton for Meds or Yellow Legs but with the report of Spotted Flycatchers showing well at Ogden, NK ,DP, Id thought Id give it a try and theres always a chance of some good gulls taking a pre roost dip on the reservoir.WRONG CHOICE, as expected , due to the late hour,1830, there were no passerines of any description to be seen and the reservoir held only a dozen BHGs, 1 Common gull and 1 LBB.
Its not often I come away pictureless but this evening my camera never left the bag and I didnt think youd want any pictures of Mallard so we,ve ended up wi nowt.
