Yet another abandonment.

A full day of heavy to torrential rain and fog on the tops once again put the anchors on any chance of birding. Roll on winter with those crisp dry frosty mornings and clear skies.
A very wet dog walk early morning produced an overnight fall of at least 12 Blackbirds in Foxhill park foraging in the fallen leaves. These were probably either continental birds or birds moved down from further north. Most had dark bills though this is not reliable for continentals. By early afternoon they had all gone.
Also 28 Common gulls and 18 Black Headed gulls present along with a single Pied Wagtail.
Strong westerly for tomorrow and more rain, hopefully without the fog. Saturday looks good so far.
