Fogged off an' reet !

As expected, the light east wind and mild temperature brought the thick fog bank over from the east leaving the tops in dense pea souper fog all day and dark murky conditions down below. At least it gave me chance to get one of the dogs bathed and groomed and, looking at tomorrows forecast of light east wind and cloud, I,ll probably be doing the other dog tomorrow.
Even in the thick fog I,ve been getting reports of more Pinks on the move with several over the Manchester area and heard only over Oakworth, thanks for that last report Andrew.
A text this morning via NK and another from a Hornsea birder reporting a clear window over the north sea and a good move of migrants taking advantage of it. With reports of several Waxwing, Hawfinch, Black Redstart and Smew in the country things may liven up once we can see daylight again.
I also got a text from Whitley Bay saying that the Pied Wheatear is still in the same area on its eleventh day now if there are any twitchers out there.
