Sucked in again by Ring Ouzels

                                      Ringed Plover skimming the water

                                    Distant on the shore
                      Herring gulls starting egg watch.

As predicted on yesterdays blog, Herons
                      after frog spawn.
Only ever see Herons at this site March/April
Getting tackled up on Ouzel watch. A.T.

                                                Herons
2 of at least 3 Ring Ouzels
Giving good views for the top road watchers

A lot of waiting to get 2 in the frame together.

Another good day at Fly Flatts after a worrying night of fog but clear by morning with a brisk NE>4
but clear bright skies.
I set off with the intention of ignoring the Ring Ouzels today but thats easier said than done . Just one or two photos turns into over 100 in the morning then again in the afternoon.
First scan of the water found a single Ringed Plover but keeping way out on the island whilst Herring gulls have started congregating ready for egg and chick watch with 9 on the shoreline. A row of birders on the top road got the Bentley workers wondering what was going on , one being AT who managed a decent view of one of the 3 birds present as it posed on the compound fence for him. Just after he had gone all 3 were sat on the fence facing the top road. Good to hear Vicki got a sighting during her dinner break today.
The only other waders present ,other than Lapwing and Curlew, were 2 Redshank briefly on the north shore.
Late afternoon and 2 Heron were on the island , strange how they know exactly when the frog spawn is present. They will be about now until mid April living on firstly spawn and then frogs.
Two Ring Ouzels spent most of the watch around the boatyard and on the banking and it took a lot of patience waiting for the 2 to get close enough to get them in one frame which luckily they did briefly just as the cramp was setting in, not an easy job getting back up on my feet again.
Looks like another good day tomorrow with a week of mainly easterlies which could be interesting if the dreaded east fog keeps away. I really must stop taking photos of Ring Ouzels now with about 400 saved and the same amount deleted.
