Curlews using the SE corner ponds
A pair of Pied Wagtails back to their usual breeding area.
1 of 2 Ring Ouzels in a favourite spot and in view
from the top road.
Ring Ouzels attract a better class of birder . VJ.
The run of good weather continued today with cloudy but bright skies on a cold E>4 at 3 degrees.
A much quieter day bird wise though 2 of the Ring Ouzels were still showing well in the boatyard with either the third bird, or one of the 2, flying over the water this morning and dropping below the west bank. A walk round there late afternoon failed to find anything other than 2 Wheatear on Robin rock. Good to see VJ and MM who were up on the top road and have a quick word with via the Ring Ouzel hotline.
No small waders showing today with just Curlews and Lapwings using the SE corner ponds and north shoreline whilst the water held 2 Greylag plus the usual Canadas and Mallards. A single Peregrine flew >N over the western ridge.
Thanks to Mick Cunningham for passing on the Lower Gorple Whooper swan info to me.
