Raven scouring the moor
Passing the wind turbines
With the afternoon not going as smoothly as planned it was 1520 hours again when I finally got to Fly Flatts. Today I drove on to the north end and walked down to the water to check the ponds and banking there in well fading light but a brighter sky than yesterday with very little breeze.
16 Mallards were on the water along with a pair of Tufted and 2 Canadas whilst 3 Snipe flushed from around the ponds.
3 male and 2 female Stonechats were on walls near the water which I didnt expect to get any photos of with Big Bertha needing plenty light working at 600mm but the Canon 7d Mk 2 has got to be the best dslr camera body on the market at present working on manual settings you couldnt believe you could get away with producing bloggable record images .
Back on the south end a Raven was taking advantage of the last bit of bright sky scouring the moor for carrion.
