The Bradshaw Ring Necked Parakeet was re located this morning in the same area by Daniel Branch, see his blog for report and pics.
To birders of the Queensbury and surrounding areas this is an exciting mega find by John Little being the first on record for the area and so far the bird of the year.
This is Johns mega bird hat trick for the Bradshaw area having previously turned up Mandarin duck and Black Redstart. Well done to eagle eyed John who picked this latest bird out by looking at a conifer tree between a gap in two buildings. Glad you,re on our team John, keep em coming.
NK sent an e mail today in his absence saying well done to John, hopefully the bird will stay around for Nigels return.
Another report today from HC at Oxenhope where the Upper Marsh Golden Plover flock has increased to c200 birds. Thanks for that Howard ( Compo ).
A grey damp day up here in Queensbury with nothing special to report.
I had hoped to get down to the Parakeet site this evening to get some better shots if the light was good but pointless in the conditions, hopefully over the weekend.
Anybody on for a Swallow this weekend ? My first over the last few years has been 4th April.
