The good old days, Twite at Fly Flatts 2013
Splendid news today from DJS with a report of 12 Twite at Fly Flatts after a 2 year absence .
These birds could have possibly been migrants moving through but at least it proves that Fly Flatts still has an attraction for this amazing species.
Dave Sutcliffe and myself have never given up on trying to get Twite back to the area by relentlessly
spreading good amounts of Nyger seed down each visit in hopes of tempting them back to the feeding station where regular counts of 20 to 30 birds could be seen a couple of years ago.
Todays sighting has just re kindled the hope of getting them back to this piece of moorland.
Well spotted Dave and thanks for all your efforts with the feed.
