Two distant Little Owl found by Daniel Branch
1 of 2 Curlew
Swifts still coming through
Ingleboro through the haze on the horizon.
Young Pheasant making an escape.
A late afternoon visit to Soil Hill for an hours sky watching found nothing special but enough to keep me entertained. Nice to meet Daniel Branch up there who was just leaving as I arrived informing me of 2 Little Owl to the west of the hill.
Swallows were coming over in good numbers along with several Swift and a surprise to get 2 Curlew circling the hill then landing on the Denholme cricket field before moving off west.
A small flock of 5 Linnet were mobile and 2 Herring gull flew south through the Causeway Foot col.
Walking back through the long grass a female Pheasant and 3 young flushed from under my feet scaring me half to death.
