Shelf Moor

Could,nt match Tracys Little Owls shot
                                            Remained in hiding

A check this evening around Shelf Moor and surrounding area failed to find ACs Whinchats, see Andys Northowram blog, and his Buzzard from this morning heading for Queensbury must have had a change of direction with nothing over the garage.
Oddly this evening several Meadow Pipits were going over in vis mig mode >SW in groups of 3 and 4 whilst several Swallows were heading >S.
No Wheatears in the trailer field but 4 Lapwing and 3 Pied Wagtails were present.
A Green Woodpecker was calling from near the Lion Gates and several Meadow Pipits were in the fields.
The Little Owls that were showing well last night kept under cover for me tonight whilst about a dozen Goldfinch were on the Thistles.
The local Sparrowhawk dropped into a large Russian Vine in the garage car park a.m. where several Sparrows roost but it seemed to leave empty handed.
