Queensbury, good start, bad finish.

                                     Plenty Common gulls around today

Ideal conditions early morn with good numbers of Meadow Pipits coming through >S and an early call from HC at Oxenhope reporting a large skein of Pinkies to the south of me heading >E. Unfortunately they were out of my line of vision from the garage car park, thanks for the call Howard.
By midday the weather was atrocious in Foxhill park with near gale force winds W>6 and driving rain and even then small pockets of Mipits were struggling over.
As I walked back to work a Jay flew from a tree in the rugby field and off >W, a real rare sighting up here and a sign of them moving.
A good clear window over the Netherlands this weekend and good conditions over the North Sea so the winter thrushes will probably take advantage and start piling through.
A decent forecast here but a good chance of the dreaded fog Sunday morning.
