Fog, Fog and more Fog, Fly Flatts (no public access)

Fog sneaking out of the valley
                                   Here comes the thicker stuff
                                           Getting serious
                                        Wind turbines going...
                                            going.....
                                           gone.

A cracking morning first light at Fly Flatts with clear blue skies and sunshine on a light SE>3, the two bad factors being fog in the valleys and anything to do with wind from any of the easterly directions means trouble and today was no exception with fog rolling in within an hour of the kick off. The fog was dense at all levels even in the afternoon in Halifax remaining all day abandoning the afternoon session which was down to a dog walk around Foxhill.
This morning I had high hopes for Fly Flatts with perfect skies for Pinks and Whoopers and with the ground being frozen I aimed to walk the west bank but both plans were soon scuppered with Bentleys working on the west bank and the sky soon clouding over.
Fly Flatts once again failed to provide in the 1 hour of excellent conditions with just 1 Raven, 2 Red Grouse and 52 Mallard and not a single gull at this side of the Nab yet thousands just over the other side 2 miles away.
Maybe I should have gone straight over to Leeshaw again but I can,t say its ever wasted going here because as the saying goes, "if you don,t go you don,t know" and its the time I miss going that the mega will turn up.
All the bad times will be forgotten when the spring waders start pouring in.
