Back to Fly Flatts, a.m./p.m. (no public access)

I didnt expect a fly past to welcome me back.

Mallards and Canadas still using the bit of water thats left.

                                                Diggers at dusk

                                      Sun going down
                                     Moon coming up
                                            Clear skies.

Being Monday and a weekend with no activity I risked it back to Fly Flatts where the track was,nt too bad despite all the weekends rain but with no wagons and plant chewing it up it was workable both morning and afternoon.
A bright , clear , sunny day with an icy cold NW>6 decreasing late afternoon to NW>4. The mornings temperature was 2 degrees rising to 4 for the second watch but pleasing conditions throughout.
Nothing special but enough activity going on to keep me occupied both morning and afternoon and pleasing to see the water is still enough to attract wildfowl with
32 Mallard and 2 Canada geese on the water and a single Meadow Pipit on the shoreline.
The entrance track held 2 Stonechat but keeping 180 degrees out of the sun line so impossible to get any photos even though they  were close by. In lay mans terms they were between the sun and me throwing them into silhouette.
Up in the sky 29 Herring gulls headed >NE along with 41 Lapwing whilst a Kestrel and Raven were present.
On the way home midday the Pit Lane football ground held 112 Lapwing and around 70 small gulls whilst early afternoon Shelf Moor held 82 Lapwing near the trailer field.
If you wondered where the comment box had gone I was getting weirdos using it to advertise dodgy web sites which I kept having to take off but after a break, hopefully they will have moved on now.
Rain and gale force winds to struggle with tomorrow allegedly but we shall see.
