NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

If this is the new year bring back the old one. Another wet day. Mixenden
2 first winter Herring gulls
Bath time
Off to roost time
1 of 2 male Goldeneye
Male and female
Best I could do with the Teal
Teal out on the water
Pr Goldeneye, Cormorant, Teal in the background.
How we usually see Teal, way out
1445 hrs with fog on the tops and the wind building up so a trip down to Mixenden reservoir where an earlier message was sent from firstly DJS and later from Pete Smith reporting 4 Teal on the water along with the Goldeneye.
On arrival, to once again dark skies and light rain, the 2 pair of Teal were, as usual, out near the centre whilst 2m and 1f Goldeneye were under the western bank.
Two Cormorant were out on the water along with two 1st winter Herring gull and several mixed small gulls.
The ducks were very flighty moving constantly from one end of the water to the other so all shots had to be very distant in very poor light, a method I,m now getting used to. If the sun ever shines all my photos will be badly over exposed as I,ve forgot how to photograph in daylight.
Its good to see Mixenden still has the pulling power to bring in the wildfowl.
Thanks to DJS and PJWS for the calls.
