Another blasting at Ogden.

As good as it got, drake Tufted

                                     Around 100 small gulls.

One thing about Queensbury is that you get a choice with the weather, no wind with fog and rain, or no fog with wind and rain or sometimes we can have fog and wind with rain, the rain being compulsory with everything.
This morning the wind had dropped so down came the fog and rain then by this afternoon the wind was back so no fog but plenty rain.
At 1500 hrs Ogden was again horrendous with a howling W>7 gusting gale force 8 with horizontal drizzle and showers of heavy rain.
In between the showers I managed to get along the prom to check out the gulls with about 100 present but all small gulls with about 80 % Black Headed and the rest Commons with a percentage of nil Mediterraneans .
The drake Tufted was still present along with 87 Mallard whilst a Grey Wagtail was down in the sluice gate and a Jay flew overhead.
The Lodge house feeders were void of birds as were the info centre feeders in the howling conditions so once again a very wet session and back to the car.
Raggalds Flood on the way home is nearly the size of Ogden reservoir now,
( slight exaggeration there ), with a second flood just over the wall but just a few BH gulls present.
Dog grooming day tomorrow afternoon so with 2 hours to pass I,m hoping the weather will be kind enough to let me get back to Fly Flatts.
