A very dark Ogden

Best I could do with last nights super moon.
An orange glow on it for a short time.

No BHGs showing leg rings tonight.

up to 8 Herring gulls on the water

Despite the weather forecast for Queensbury being sunny till dark I arrived at Ogden at 1500 hrs in low scud clouds, a strong W>5 and heavy drizzle. The sky was as black as night so very little time for scanning as dark by 1545 hrs and the car park gate is now being locked at 1600 hrs.
In the time I had, I picked out 8 Herring gulls, 10 LBBs and around 200 small gulls, 80 % BHGs and 20 % Commons.
A Little Grebe was diving constantly in the NE corner just visible through the mist, a bit of a late arrival as they usually show at this location around the last week in November but others should follow with 7 being my highest count there.
The Dipper was down in the sluice gate and once again plenty Goldfinch in to roost but no Chaffinch.
The so called super moon showed well last night in a clear sky but was difficult to photograph being so bright it just filled the image in the view finder with blinkies.
