A good summer for Yellow Legged sightings.
Late afternoon at Leeshaw started with very dark clouds and rain over the moor heading slowly my way. A walk with the dogs along the track produced around 50 BHGs, 8 LBB gulls and the Yellow Legged Herring gull present way across on the the far north shore plus the usual geese on the water and a higher number of Mallards with 14 present.
By this time the rain had arrived ,( as well as HC, ) in the form of drizzle slowly getting worse and worse turning to constant heavy rain and low scud clouds lessening visibility driven across on a SW>4.
After a good talk with HC ( Compo) and a thorough drenching I up stumps and headed home leaving Howard on Tern and Osprey watch.
Nothing vis mig wise over Queensbury in the low cloud base this morning though HC had a few Mipits over in poor conditions at his Oxenhope watch point and Mipits were also moving low over Ovenden with a report from AH.
Hopefully we,ll reap the benefits from this band of wet weather in the days to come.
