What was around in March 2015

With February, last of the dull months, almost half way through its time to sort out your target birds for March when summer birds are coming in and winter birds are almost gone or ready for leaving.
Here,s just a few specials from March 2015.

                         Oystercatchers return to Fly Flatts
                                    Along with Curlew
                     Whilst Snipe are up drumming
                     Gt Crested Grebes took up residence at Ogden
                                           24 Whooper Swans were on Fly Flatts
                    With a mega count of 244 on Mixenden
                Gadwall was a surprise for Mixenden

                     A late Snow Bunting for Soil Hill




                  A Sparrowhawk was a regular visitor to
                      the Ogden feeders

           Wheatears returned to the moors on passage
                                        And Meadow Pipits took up residence
