April 2015 Canada Goose success.
The pair of Canada geese that bred last April by a large garden pond down Station Road in Queensbury have now returned and are already re furbishing their old nest.
It was a bit of a moving story for the locals last year when the Canadas surprised everyone by successfully hatching 4 eggs only to have 2 well grown chicks taken by Carrion Crow.
The crows constantly harassed the 2 remaining goslings so the day after I took the above photos the Canada pair realised that it was,nt safe for their young so, watched by several locals, the 4 geese left the garden and walked up through the grounds of the Victoria Hall and across the busy main Bradford to Halifax Road bringing traffic to a standstill.
They then walked across Tesco car park and out towards open fields. After that no one knows where they went or what happened to them despite me checking several suitable habitats around the area.
Anyway, they,re back again this year so I,ll be keeping a close eye on them.
