On the trail of the Golden Plover

Golden plover, a treat for Queensbury
                                        Keeping their distance
                                   Zoomed in at 600mm

Few Fieldfare getting in on the act

We,ve got the Queensbury white crow,
This is the Taylor Lane black bunny.

Halifax shopping this afternoon via the Bradshaw Bonnet whilst the sun was out and luckily the flock of 21 Golden Plover, 28 Lapwing and 8 Fieldfare were available for a quick photo shoot.

A revisit late afternoon found the same group present, less the sun this trip, so following up an e mail from Denise I did a tour of fields around Deep Lane, Keelham where she had reported another or the same group.
Plenty small gulls were in the area and about half a dozen Lapwing but no Goldies.
Several other fields around Raggalds Flood and Sandal Farm held Lapwings and small gulls but no Goldies.
A quick trip to Ogden was a joke with traffic everywhere and Bradshaw Lane gridlocked. Looks like Ogden is unbirdable on weekend afternoons now.
Back down Ingham Lane into Bradshaw to find a few Greenfinch and Redwings then back up Perseverance Road to walk down the Spotted Flycatcher track which produced very little other than more Greenfinch and a jet black rabbit.
