Very iffy photos in the thick fog
This was the first view before I,d time to adj
the camera
One thing thats the same in the new year is the weather.
Off at 0730 hrs to Lower Laithe, Leeshaw and Leeming in strong SW>5, heavy drizzle and low cloud. Dark till almost 0830 hrs.
All 3 just had usual sp so headed for Fly Flatts to call at Mixy on the way home for the GND.
Driving on the top road in thick fog a Red Grouse was walking by the road and as it flew a small bird flashing white flew further on the road.
First instincts were, that can,t be a Wheatear, until I got my sensible head on and got a Snow Bunting.
It was very flighty moving along the roadside and flicking onto the moor still in dense fog but managed to re locate it 3 times and get some poor but record shots.
The bird was still present when I left and the fog seemed to be clearing.
The Mixy GND was still present at 1000 hrs but took some finding in the choppy water.
