Waxwing report for Shelf Moor

A day of sunshine and showers though less windy than previous days. Drastic drop in temperature this evening.
A warming report from a resident of Shelf Moor about a flock of around 10 Waxwings last week, whilst the snow was down , feeding on Cotoneaster berries in a bungalow garden on Shelf Moor not far from the village green. As she walked past them they flew up onto the wires then back into the garden. Thanks to Gillian Chambers for a great report.
The local Sparrowhawk was in our front garden again today but unfortunately just as Id gone back to work, a species I,ve yet to see this year.
Blue Tits around the garage car park are already showing an interest in last years nest box and a Blackbird is singing regularly.
Heres hoping for a good weekend.
