EGP revisited

                                       Treecreeper

A full day of snow in Queensbury from first light to last without stopping leaving a good 3 inch depth along with thick fog.  Due to that, all local birding options were closed so it was back for another Waxwing stake out below Kershaws but to no avail so on once again to EGP to check the canal towpath towards Elland this time.
On arrival the snow from this mornings visit had turned to rain but coming down heavy and very grey.
Called at the daughters at Sowerby Bridge this afternoon where there was no sign of snow and had to send her a photo when we got home to show how bad it was!
Anyway, back on the canal banking I failed to pick up Kingfisher knowing it was there yesterday as Tracy sent me a photo that she,d taken.
Several Long Tailed Tits were flitting about as well as the commoner tit flocks with Wrens, Dunnocks and Robins in good numbers.
Two Heron were very noisy in a tree top and 2 Jay flew over the canal.
Unusual to see a Gt Crested Grebe on the canal but only briefly as it was disturbed by a dog walker and flew towards the ski lake.
The above Treecreeper gave me the usual dodging around the tree trick but managed a snap after about 15 minutes and 6 misses.
Despite the foul weather a pleasing days birding.
Have to wait yet another week to get to Fly Flatts now, at this rate the Common Sandpipers will be there before me.
