A blustery Queensbury

Commons now starting to loose their speckled head

Most Black Headed starting to show the hood.

A real mixed bag weather wise today with bright blue skies and sunshine one minute then heavy showers of either rain, hail, sleet or snow the next. A strong W>6 gusting 7 has blown throughout the day.
After a weekend of Snipe and Waxwings it was back to earth today with just the midday Foxhill gulls to fall back on with 14 Commons and 6 BHGs facing the wind at lunch time up in the park.
Two Pied Wagtails went over the garage a.m. >NW whilst a Meadow Pipit went over Chapel Lane midday >NE.
A report today from a Clayton resident saying the Waxwing flock is still around but mobile working between the village and Scholemoor Cemetery.
An interesting report came from a local dog walker of regular sightings of Gt Spotted Woodpecker and a smaller black and white bird that drums on trees, LSW,? in the wood at the end of Stocks Lane, Uplands, Qby. Sounds like its worth a coat of looking at.
