Here we go again

Another spring breeding season and again a large moorland fire in the Fly Flatts area.
The fire, viewed from Ogden and Ned Hill, is concentrated just to the SW of the Withins possibly beyond Cold Edge Dams but with the strength of the wind it could spread rapidly.
Fire crews were in attendance and a fire officer was at Ned Hill taking photos.

Ogden itself was quiet due to the wind and partly unworkable due to the heavy smoke lying in the valley.
As reported by Denise, the long staying m Goldeneye has moved on.

I know this location and about 3 months back DP and I were at the Withens when a Police Car pulled up and the 2 Polizei got out and asked to borrow DPs binoculars. They mentioned it was done deliberately by the landowners and actually could see the people involved. They then drove off, trying to work out how to get there.

Looks like they got a bit more than they bargained for today. Can,t see any normal nugget starting a fire in this wind. At least 4 fire units are up there now but its at the wrong end of the day to start tackling fires.
