Ringed Plover juv and male

Testing the wings
Can,t get use to this flying job.
A drizzly damp morning on a SW>4-5 at 9 degrees with good visibility. By late afternoon the wind had turned W>5-6 and strengthened considerably with the temp at 15 degrees.
As I was tackling up the rain was just starting then driving home the heavens opened with torrential rain which flooded all the roads in Mixenden. As I arrived home it had passed over leaving a clear evening.
The only newcomers today were 4 drake Tufted duck out on the water and all going into eclipse. The young Ringed Plovers were still struggling getting the hang of flying with short distances and crash landings but as soon as they get flying I,m hoping they,ll used the SE ponds like the adults do bringing them much nearer for pics.
Everything else was very much the same and no sign of a Common Scoter yet though the water may be too low to temp them down.
The large Brown Hare that has been showing around the area and even running out onto the mud sadly met its end today as a road traffic victim.
