Ogden late afternoon

A late start today but well worthwhile with a hospital check for Lynda once again getting the all clear and now being put on low risk and 6 monthly checks instead of 3 monthly. He said that with the size of the operation for mouth cancer she had 4 years ago she is really lucky to have survived it.
I,d say rather than luck it was the skill of the surgeon Professor McCaul and his team of 16 that worked on her during the 14 hour operation. I for one can,t knock B.R.I. and the NHS.
With a spring in my step after the results the pounding rain at Ogden seemed of little significance with a strong S>5 and horizontal drizzle turning to torrential rain and low scud clouds hanging over the tree tops.
Around 50 small gulls were out on the water along with 2 Cormorant and the usual Mallard, whilst across on the NE banking 18 Lapwings stood facing the wind, this coincided with another 12 over the house when I got home denoting some sort of move.
The Kingfisher made a brief appearance by the sluice gate and around 10 Chaffinch were in the Brambling tree by the car park but no Brambling as yet.
An interesting report from Skipton Gordon this morning reporting a Yellow Browed Warbler at Sainsburys car park, Otley yesterday.
