Big gulls moving ultra high. This taken at 420 mm and cropped.
Looking at the darker trailing edge to the under wings
its an LBB rather than Herring.
Resident Common gull with lunch pack
Moon going down in the west this morning
And the sun coming up in the east.
Another cracking day although last nights thaw turned to frost during the night as the skies cleared with very little thaw today other than in the sunshine.
Fifteen minutes sky watching in Foxhill park this lunchtime found big gulls moving >SW ridiculously high showing as specs and disappearing if you took your eyes off them.
They were soaring round and slowly drifting off to the SW down the Calder valley.
Nearly impossible to get a focus on them being just a spec but the one I managed appears to be an LBB.
Hope the weekend is kind to us and provides the goods.
