Leeshaw Reservoir
Fire crews again on Ovenden Moor
Bright and breezy with wall to wall sunshine spoilt by an ENE 5-6. Visibility good.
Arrived at Fly Flatts at 0700hrs only to find the water packed with wind surfers and boats so quickly aborted and drove on to Leeshaw reservoir, Oxenhope which was fine for 30 minutes in time to let me scope my fisrt Ringed Plover of the year and then the local farmer at the other side of the water decided to re enact Custers last stand with his 12 bore blasting away like his cartridges were on the last day of their sell by date, result , an empty reservoir and surrounding area. Oh well, back to old faithful Soil Hill as long as the quad bikers are still in bed. Luckily they were so the morning was saved although no bonus Dotterel.
