The Breeding Season

As from now until the end of the breeding season birds of a sensitive nature will be omitted from this blog due to a small percentage of undesirables who take their pleasure from egg collecting, nest destroying and the killing and trapping of birds.
Reports of non breeding birds moving through the area will still be published. BS

M62 Birding

The first day of a 2 day course at Rothwell, Leeds proved fruitful today on the birding scene.
In the car park over there 2 Goldcrest were in a pine tree and strangely there were bird feeders and fat balls hanging all around the perimeter fence of the testing station so they must have bird lovers over there or they knew I was coming. The feeders were attracting Greenfinch and Chaffinch but I had little time to watch them.
On the return journey a Buzzard was over Chain Bar heading >S mobbed with corvids and a Cormorant flew >W over Leeds Whitehall Rd.
Better take the camera tomorrow !
