Still no chick/s showing
Ringed Plover still present
A very wet and windy start to the morning but drying up by 0815 hrs with the SW>5 continued to increase throughout the morning reaching SW>7 gusting gale force 8 with full cloud apart from a few brief sunny spells at a cold 7 degrees.
Plenty to see and watch this morning but nothing special to get the adrenaline pumping. Very few waders now with a single Ringed Plover, 2 Oystercatchers, 3 Common Sandpiper and a single Dunlin but far too windy for any serious scope work.
A strange year for the geese with over 250 Canadas and 22 Greylag but oddly only 6 Greylag goslings and 9 Canada goslings with very little breeding taken place. The pair of long staying Tufted duck, which also have'nt bred, were joined by another drake this morning.
Swifts were again moving through >S whilst 4 LBB were on the water and 2 Kestrel in the air.
Looking grim for morning with heavy rain and moderate sou'wester at 8 degrees. Much more rain and my islands will be disappearing.
