Torrential rain and strong W>6 gusting 7 to start the morning but dry and a drop in the wind by 0830 hrs leaving full cloud with short breaks of sunshine at 8 degrees.
A good owl start to the month with my first of the year LEO yesterday and then a SEO this morning though Barn Owls are very scarce this year after a very long wet winter.
Yesterdays Ringed Plover had moved onto the south shore this morning along with a single Dunlin plus Redshank and Common Sandpiper whilst at least 4 separate Curlew young are in different stages, 2 being small chicks and 2 fledged. The Oystercatcher pair are still very agitated but no sign of their chick or chicks as yet.
No wader movement on the north shore after a good scoping with just 5 LBB gulls on the mud.
Sunshine and showers tomorrow with the strong wind continuing from the WSW at 8 degrees.
