Fly Flatts a.m/p.m.

                                           Bathing time for curlew

                                               Several LBB gulls around
Short Eared Owl over the moor

                                                        LBBs

More Greylag on the move >NW

                                                  2 Dunlin in the lagoon.

A decent morning with near full cloud on a SE>3 at 14 degrees. Late afternoon was poor with full sun, blue skies and a temp of 20 degrees on a SE>3.
More Greylags on the move today with another 7 high and >NW and 3 more on the water. A higher count of LBB gulls on the water and north bank but no Herring gulls as yet.
A very distant Short Eared Owl briefly quartered the moor over Tatty Pie Hill before disappearing over the ridge towards Gorple whilst a Buzzard was in the same area.
Waders were the same as normal with 3 Dunlin present, 2 in the lagoon and 1 on the NE shore whilst its starting to look as if the Ringed Plover chick didnt last more than 3 days with no sightings since them. I scoped the pair this afternoon from across the water for some time and no appearance of the chick. The adult birds were back to performing the pre breeding procedure with the male doing the fan tail display so may be going for a second brood, Hopefully I,m wrong about the chick although the statistics show that only 25% survive from hatch to fledge, time will tell.
