Male Ringed Plover
Common Sandpiper
Gull numbers improving
3 Dunlin present.
A disappointing morning weather wise with clear blue skies, full sun on a very light W>2 at 14 degrees.
Still Dunlin around with 2 on the east bank and 1 on the south bank plus the other usual waders but nothing near as active as yesterday in the conditions.
A small V formation of 9 Greylag geese went over very high >N along with several Swallows and Swift in the same direction.
With plenty chicks around now, gull numbers are increasing with 19 LBBs on the NW corner banking, these mainly being sub adults.
The late afternoon visit was poor with the heat up to 20 degrees and masses of heat shimmer around the shoreline.
Strange that I have,nt had a single Whinchat or Stonechat at Fly Flatts this year.
